If you thought your relationship with your ex was toxic, you obviously haven't watched Phantom Thread yet.
Wrapped in beautiful shots of lace linings and exquisite fabrics, the poisonous love that blossoms between ornery genius dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his next muse Alma (Vicky Krieps) is one to be relished. Just by reading this you think you know how this is going to end but boy, you're in for an unexpected treat.
Things go from 0 to 100 in this movie — just not real quick. And that's even better because the creeping uneasiness you will feel about the couple will explode into a revealing climax with just one unassuming verse that will shake! you!: "Kiss me my girl, before I'm sick"
I was so enraptured by this show and so invested in the unfolding of its story even though I was watching it on a hot sweaty night on my small TV screen. The score was so beautiful too and the costumes were to die for.
Give it a go when you have the capacity & energy to ~feel~ because this show is not for vacant watching.
